Tim Garwood (b, 1984, Epsom, UK) lives and works inLondon, UK. Tim Garwood is a painter of intuition and spontaneity. Often gleaning materials from the streets and fromhis studio to construct paintings, the works are alive with a real and potent force. He paints on IKEAtablecloths, sacking, fragments of canvas on the floor, wood, lace, denim, glass, exploring a visuallanguage across paintings, drawings, and mixed media works. Garwood tests each material’s ability andperformance under the weight of studio debris and heavy swathes of paint. His abstraction is one oftactile immediacy, his vocabulary truthful and instantaneous, oscillating freely between suggestions ofplace, collective experience and association. His paintings constantly investigate the ways that coloursexist in relation to each other, the weight and capability of his materials and the transformativecapabilities and exploration of painting itself.

Daisy Parris (b. 1993, Kent, UK) lives and works between London and Somerset, UK. Daisy Parris is a painter of psychological space. Direct text-based works and abstract paintings are madeup of a vernacular that has developed through experience, relationships and through the depths andpeaks of their human existence thus far. Parris brings intimacy, insight and integrity to their paintings withgreat psychological and emotional force. The work is imbued with the sensitivity of one who feelseverything, taking us through unflinching narratives and moments of reflection and tenderness. An ode tohuman existence, their work is sometimes silent, sometimes savage, with paintings that construct self-portraits of personal battles and triumphs in a fast-moving yet contemplative assault on the canvas.
