

参 展 艺 术 家 介 绍
索卡艺术荣幸宣布群展“幻月之灵”于2023年6月3日正式开幕,由温傑思策展。“幻月之灵”是多元的、萌芽的、复合的存在。本次展览在满月之时徐徐展开,汇集了六位女性艺术家创作的绘画、雕塑和纸上作品,引出对女性特质、身体以及人类与自然关系的思考。艺术家运用东⻄方审美实践的交融,描绘身体存有变形的潜能,人类精神无意识的碎片,又或是来自遥远星系的奇幻生物。本文将介绍参展艺术家郭雅阁、菊汁、以及陈梦涵的创作背景与理念。
郭雅格的艺术创作涵盖木板、布面油画、铅笔绘画以及书籍制作等多个领域。她从文学、自然和神秘学中汲取灵感。并在创作中融入自己的情感和个人回忆,用空灵的画风勾勒人像、花卉和风景转瞬即逝的刹那。在她的画作中,人物和静物的出现不是为描绘它们的表象,而是延伸为比喻来引发观者对时间流逝和情感内涵的思考。

Yage Guo's artwork spans a wide range of disciplines, including oil paintings on wood panels and canvas, pencil drawings, and bookmaking. Drawing inspiration from literature, nature, and mythology, she employs ethereal brush strokes to capture fleeting moments of portraiture, flowers, and landscapes, imbuing them with her own emotions and personal memories. Within her works, people and objects do not merely exist to depict their appearances, but rather extend into metaphorical expressions that provoke viewers to contemplate the passage of time and emotional connotations.

菊汁的作品关注语言,尤其是其表征的局限性和言语表达的模糊性。她通过充实隐藏和揭示之间的张力来探索这些语言的阈限空间。菊汁的兴趣不仅仅在于吸引观众追逐隐藏的意义。她渴望邀请他们参加捉迷藏的语义游戏,只是为了游戏本身。

她精巧地应用颜料与媒介配合所创造的厚度不一肌理,使各种颜色以半透明的发光质量相互融合。然而,她在朴实的绿色、米色和紫色的有限调色板中使用柔和的色调,唤起了一种更不祥的情绪,即怀旧情绪。这是一种无法用言语表达的怀念。

Wang’s work concerns language, particularly the limits of its representation and the vagueness of verbal expression. She explores these linguistic liminal spaces by fleshing out the tension between hiding and revealing. Wang is not simply interested in engaging viewers in a wild goose-chase for hidden meanings. She aspires to invite them to a semantic game of hide-and-seek, to be played merely for its own sake.
Her delicate application of paint and media creates a texture of varying thickness, allows individual colours to flow into one another with a translucent luminous quality. Yet her use of muted tones in a limited palette of earthy greens, beiges and purples, evokes a more ominous sentiment, namely that of nostalgia. It is a nostalgia for something that cannot be expressed with words.

陈孟涵以准考古学的方式进行雕塑,装置和纸本的创作。她的作品为证据编织线索,还原遗失或推测性历史,并游走于史实,历史性叙事和幻想文学之间。通过仿制历史语境,她的创作反思社会构建记忆在当今数字时代中的虚实边界。

陈孟涵的雕塑作品联结了推测性设想与心灵景观,并从自然中的植物群与动物群提取象征,通过超现实般的结合,将其塑造为有着神秘学色彩的新形态。她试图重新创造生命的起源,并为新物种注入意识和情感。
近期的作品灵感来自于体格强健,速度非凡的大型猫科动物。它们的生活环境有着高度竞争性,却鲜有经历人类在生命被威胁后产生的创伤。通过对另一种掠食性动物的反思,陈孟涵在寻找当代社会中依靠动物性直觉而非逻辑思维的重要性。

Chen works across sculpture, installation and print-making in a quasi-archaeological approach. Her work serves as evidence, leaving clues for a lost or speculative history that hovers between facts, historical narratives and fantasy fiction. Through setting a tone in the past, Chen’s practice reflects upon the social construct of memory and its boundaries between reality and stimulation in the digital age.
Menghan Chen’s sculptures bridge speculative scenarios to human mental landscape. She extracts flora and fauna and reconfigures them into mystic metamorphosis. Breathing life through morphology, Chen attempts to reenact the origins of life through endowing consciousness and emotion to new life forms.
Chen’s recent works are inspired by big cats such as tigers and leopards, known for their exceptional physique and speed. Reflecting on a fellow predator species living in a competitive environment and suffering little from traumatic effects, Chen searches for the significance to rely on animalistic instinct over rational thoughts in contemporary era.

Yage Guo
郭雅格,1998年出生于内蒙古,现居于伦敦和上海。2017年至2022年间,郭雅格在斯莱德美术学院获得了一等学位的本科和硕士学位。
Yage Guo (b. 1998 in Inner Mongol, CN) lives and works in London and Shanghai. Guo achieved both Bachelor and Master of Fine Art degrees with first-class honours from the Slade School of Fine Art from 2017 to 2022.

Shiwen Wang
菊汁,生于1995年,是一位来自中国的伦敦艺术家。她目前正在伦敦皇家艺术学院完成她的绘画硕士学位 (2021)。她获得了芝加哥艺术学院的艺术学士学位(2019年)和上海视觉艺术学院的学士学位(2017年)。
Wang Shiwen (1995) is a London-based artist from China. She is currently finishing her ma in painting at the Royal College of Art in London (2021). She obtained her BFA from the school of the art institute of Chicago (2019) and her ba from the shanghai institute of visual art (2017).

陈孟涵,1998年生于北京,现工作及生活在伦敦。于2019年获得纽约大学艺术史学士学位,并于2022年获得伦敦切尔西艺术学院纯艺专业硕士学位。
Maggie Menghan Chen (b. 1998, Beijing) lives and works in London. She obtained her MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts following her BA in Art History at New York University.
