熏依社画廊上海空间荣幸呈现日本当代艺术家前田正宪个展《観自在》,本次展览是艺术家在中国的首次个展,展出了继2016年以来创作的20余件抽象绘画精选之作。受到“物派”运动的至纯至简的影响,前田正宪专注于“岩性”的肌理与抽象绘画的关系,近年来,创作进入全新状态。


 

Shun Art Gallery is honored to present the Nihonga artist Masanori MAEDA’s solo exhibition "Guan", which is the artist's first solo exhibition in China. It exhibits more than 20 selected abstract works created since 2016. Maeda focuses on the relationship between the texture of "rock" and abstract painting, meanwhile, influenced by the pure and simple "Mono-ha" movement, his creation has entered a new state in recent years.

岩彩画可上溯至公元三世纪的龟兹石窟壁画,后以佛教艺术的形态流传到东瀛,在日本得到了长足的发展。岩彩秉性不易调和,艺术家须熟知它的“脾气”,每一个颗粒都是独立的,不同颜色、粗细的岩彩被前田驾驭,形成独特语言,在光的帮助下,“神性”的光芒荡漾于画面。


 

Nihonga can be traced back to the murals of the Kizil Caves in the third century AD, and later spread to Japan in the form of Buddhist art, and has achieved considerable development in Japan. The nature of mineral pigments is not easy to reconcile. Artists must be familiar with the "temper" of Nihonga pigments. Each particle is independent, and Nihonga pigments of different colors and thicknesses are manipulated by the artist into a unique language. With the help of light, the picture is full of "divinity" shine.

前田的早期创作聚焦具象岩彩画。作为东京艺术大学的高材生,毕业时即获得安宅奖的前田,他的具象作品克制内敛,安静的色彩闪烁着侘寂式的“微光”。 受传奇日本画家长谷川等伯的影响,其笔力在虚空中呈现张力,蕴含着不详、隐匿的未知,仿佛是冬季寒风中磨砺出的感性,寂静而温婉。


 

Maeda's early works focused on figurative Nihonga. As an excellent student at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Maeda won the Ataka Award upon graduation. His figurative works are quiet and inward, and the quiet colors are shining with wabi-sabi-style "shimmer". Influenced by the legendary Japanese painter Hasegawa Tohaku, his brushwork presents tension in the void, containing hidden unknowns, as if the sensibility honed in the cold winter wind, silent and gentle.

2016年,前田开始转向对抽象岩彩画的探索,他在特定的基底上将颜色进行分层、并置,看似平铺的配色方案,每一笔都带有微妙复杂的变化,浪漫的色彩流淌在色“间”,具象与抽象的界限不确定起来。前田努力在画面中捕捉“可见与不可见”之间的“叠加”,生与死、苦与乐等对立的两极元素,一旦被搁置被遗忘,便可进入另一种超越的,宁静且富于力量的境界。


 

In 2016, Maeda began to explore abstractNihonga. He layered and juxtaposed the pigments of Nihonga on a specific base. The seemingly flat color scheme, each with subtle and complex changes, romanticized colors flow among the colors, and the boundaries between figurative and abstract become uncertain. Maeda strives to capture the "superimposition" between "visible and invisible" in the picture, life and death, suffering and happiness, and other polar elements of opposites, once shelved and forgotten, they can enter another transcendent, peaceful, and powerful realm.

凝视前田的笔触是治愈的。流淌涌动,汇聚扩散,岩彩的质感在色层之间“显、露、隐、没”,如同看见人的每一次起心动念,在全然内观的状态下,生命速度放慢,心境澄明,一切都在静静流淌。


 

Gazing at Maeda's brushstrokes is healing. Flowing and surging, converging and spreading, the color layers of mineral pigments "reveal, expose, hide, and disappear", just like seeing every thought of human beings arises and perish, in the full introspective state, the speed of life slows down, the mind gradually becomes clear, everything is flowing quietly.

依据著名的双缝干涉实验,世界被提示为是一个在人类意识遮蔽下的世界。前田的作品试图启发、唤醒我们对世界本真的理解。 关上“眼耳鼻舌身意”,不再不停向外求索,我们原本就连接着这个能量世界,我们本自具足。烦恼来袭,观照此念的生灭,如同云卷云舒,无执着无挂碍,直到不生不灭。



According to the famous double-slit experiment, the world is suggested as a world under the cover of human consciousness. Maeda's works try to inspire and awaken our true understanding of the world. Close the "eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind", and no longer keep searching outside. We are originally connected to this energy world, and there is nothing lacking in ourselves. When afflictions strike, observe the birth and death of this thought, like clouds rolling in and unwinding, without attachment or hindrance, until it does not arise or perish.

日本画(Nihonga)所使用的颜彩与丙烯或油画材料相比,不仅复杂,而且难以有效地用于抽象。正是这种复杂性赋予了日本画流派迷人的魅力,而一批新兴的当代日本画家流派正在将这个具有数百年历史的传统(以往过于注重具象绘画)以大胆的色彩和动人的抽象带入 21 世纪,前田正宪就是其中的领跑者。

 

久负盛名的东京艺术大学被公认为日本最难被录取的艺术大学,耀眼的校友基本上涵盖了自明治时代以来日本现代艺术史。前田正宪从这所大学毕业并获得安宅奖。艺术家早期的具象作品沉静内敛,纯净的色彩带着微妙的变化,时间的“光泽”被附着在被刻画的静物之上,视线被久久地停留在一个永恒的瞬间。近年来,前田重新开始关注抽象,这是他一直希望表现的形式,其灵感来自于“物派”运动的至纯至简,以及传奇的中世纪日本画家长谷川东白的松树,其笔力在虚空中呈现张力,蕴含着不详、隐匿的未知,仿佛是冬季寒风凛冽中磨砺出的感性,寂静而婉约。前田正宪努力在画面中捕捉“可见与不可见”之间的“叠加”,生与死、苦与乐等对立的二极元素,一旦被搁置被遗忘,便可进入另一种超越的,宁静且有富于力量的境界。

 

前田正宪曾获得多个奖项,包括东京艺术大学安宅奖、Fuirann最佳作品奖、美国芝加哥国际艺术大赛二等奖。他的作品曾在美国、英国、荷兰、韩国等国际各大艺博会展出,且在香港苏富比成功拍卖。日本东京龙门寺、东京艺术大学等机构收藏了他的作品。

 

Compared with acrylic or oil painting materials, the Japanese pigments used in Nihonga are not only complex but also difficult to be effectively used in abstraction. It is this complexity that gives the genre called Nihonga its captivating allure, and an emerging school of contemporary Japanese painters is bringing this centuries-old tradition, previously leaning heavily on figurative painting, into the 21st century with bold colors and striking abstractions. Masanori MAEDA is one of the pioneers.

 

The prestigious Tokyo Art University is recognized as the most difficult art university to be admitted to in Japan, its glittering alumni essentially comprise the modern art history of Japan since the Meiji Period. Maeda graduated from this university and won the Ataka Prize. The artist's early figurative works are quiet and implicit, the simple colors have the slightest changes, the glimmer of time is attached to the depicted still life, and the sight is kept in an eternal moment for a long time. In recent years, Maeda has renewed his focus on abstraction, a style of painting that he had always wished to paint, inspired by the simplicity of the Mono-ha movement and the pine trees of the legendary Medieval Japanese painter Hasegawa Tohaku. His brushstrokes reveal a tension in the void, which contains hidden unknowns, as if it is the sensibility honed in the cold and windy winter, serenity and gracefulness. Maeda tries to capture the superposition between "visible and invisible" in the image. The elements of life and death, pain and happiness are juxtaposed, once forgotten, the audience can enter another realm of transcendence, tranquility, and power.

 

Maeda has won many awards, including the Ataka Prize of the Tokyo University of the Arts, the Fuirann Award for Best Artwork, and the second prize of the Chicago International Art Competition. His works have been exhibited at major international art fairs and successfully auctioned at Sotheby's in Hong Kong. His works were collected by institutions such as the Ryumon Temple Collection in Tokyo, Tokyo University of the Arts.
