1958年出生在边境城市满洲里，目前生活在北京。

如今作为跨界艺术家，孔宁的生活经历涉及写作、电影、油画、行为艺术、装置、短片、纪录片、诗歌等。在十八年的艺术生涯里，孔宁一直致力于创作表达生命和生态环境主题的艺术作品，其中，用色大胆的油画作品被私人藏家及多家艺术机构收藏。

她拍摄过微电影，创作过短篇和长篇小说。2001年设计并建造了玫瑰城堡，成为京城文艺界人士相聚的空间。2014年行为艺术及纪录片《嫁马》在内蒙古达茂完成，2017年12月孔宁在巴黎峰会展出的作品《小蓝人》，向公众发出“生命是一滴水，不给地球增加重量”的呼吁，引发全球关注。2019年行为艺术作品《十万片叶子》在北京展出。她已成为世界范围内提倡环保的重要艺术家之一。

Artist Kong Ning, born in the border city of Manzhouli on August 29, 1958, currently works and lives in Beijing.

As a multiple artist, Kong Ning’s life experience involves literature, film, oil painting, performance, installation, video, documentary, poetry, etc. She is dedicated to creating artworks which present her life and the theme of environment production; some of these works have been collected by major private collectors and several important art organizations.

She has made micro-movies, short novels and long novels. In 2001, She designed and build the Castle of Rose which becomes the space for artists and intellectuals to meet in Beijing. In 2014, The documentary of her performance art Marrying a horse was accomplished in Da Mao, Inner-Mongolia. In 2017, Kong Ning represented the work The little blue man at the Paris “One Planet” summit on December, making the call that “life is just a drop of water and does not add weight to the earth”, and has gained much global attention. In 2019, the performance One hundred thousand leaves on display in Beijing, shows that Kong Ning has become one of the most important environment protecting artist in the world.
