“面对冯翰婷的画，就像走在一条无名小道，不知道它是通往一般绘画还是中转当代艺术，猜不出哪里有拐弯，望不见多远是尽头，真真切切感觉到的只有路面的舒适：既没有石子绊脚，也没有尘土扑鼻，沥青和水泥都不是它的材料，街砖或马赛克于它无疑是亵渎，它用时间自己夯实自己，鲜花和野草给予它奖励，还有能发声的小虫子、一动不动的小猫和路人撒落的瓶瓶罐罐，它们一齐来了一场大合唱，用唱诗班的调调合着我们行走的节奏……”

在冯翰婷的绘画历程中，她一直专注于那些不被认为有多严肃的对象：面包、水果、海鲜、衣物等。风景是梦中的风景，连生灵神祇在她笔下都变得像书桌或床头柜上的小物，让人亲近。其单纯及静谧，使她的画有点古典静物画的意味，但画中直率的线条和奇异的色彩，又使它们产生一种有别于古典艺术的魅力。

冯翰婷自孩提时代开始画画，也许是自当时就形成的习惯，她的画作之主要材料不是技术或观念，而是心情和记忆的只言片语——某些人们认定只应留在青涩岁月的难以启齿的事，反而一直指引着她的创作。她的画中看似天真的成分，来源于每个人都必曾有过的真挚感受，正好让自以为成熟世故的我们重新察觉自己的内心。

此次展览精选冯翰婷2011-2019年间的作品，其中大部分属首次展出原作。

"Looking at the paintings of Feng Hanting is like walking on an unnamed path –– you can't tell if it will bring you to the art of painting or the dimension of contemporary art. You can't predict what are the twists and turns ahead. You can't see how far is the end of the path. The only certainty is the comfortable feeling as you walk on this path: there are not any small rocks, not any dust. This path is not made of cement or asphalt, and adding any brick or tile means blasphemy to it. The only thing it needs to become better is time, although it also enjoys the companionship of flowers, wild weed, the buzzing bugs, the silent cats, and the bottles and jars left by the passersby. All these things join as a choir to propose a rhythm that guides our steps."

Since the beginning of her career as a painter, Feng Hanting has always focused on subject matters that are usually not considered to be serious, like beard, fruit, seafood, personal clothing, etc. Her landscapes are landscapes from dreams, and her animals and gods are portrayed as amicable objects that you and I put on our working desk or nightstand. Her paintings are calm and pure. At times, they may remind us of the genre of still-life painting. Yet, Feng uses spontaneous brush strokes and delightful colors to create a charm that is very different from classical art and is uniquely hers.

Feng started to paint when she was 5 years old. Probably a practice developed since then, she uses fragments of emotion and memory, instead of certain concepts or techniques, as the major ingredients of her work. Certain things that are considered to be adolescent, inappropriate and too embarrassing to for the grown-ups to talk about continue to guide her creativity. The unsophisticated part of her paintings reminds us of the truest feelings that we once had, offering us an opportunity to reevaluate our maturity and observe our hearts again.

This exhibition presents a selection of works by Feng Hanting from the last ten years. Many works are in an exhibition for the first time.
