Virtuality and Reality: Do Performance Art need VR technology?
?
With the radical development, both technically and commercially, in the domain of VR(Virtual Reality)/ AR (Augmented Reality), VR is expected to occupy multiple areas of our material and spiritual life within the next three to five years. Like every previous technological revolution, VR/AR will inevitably affect the techniques and language of performance arts. At the moment, the application of VR in performance arts is still marginal. Therefore, the opportunity to hear the exploration and experience of forerunners in the field, to directly communicate with them, and to appreciate the creativity of various cultural backgrounds, are even more precious for those in the performance arts. We are confident that, through this forum, performance artists, program artists, technological developers, managers and investors from different countries and regions will have a deeper insight into the future of ‘virtuality’.
