关于艺术家

雷磊1985年出生于中国江西省南昌市，现工作生活于北京。艺术家／独立动画导演，创作同时涉及平面设计，录像，绘画和音乐。

2014年获得亚洲文化协会蔡国强奖学金。

About artist

Lei Lei was born in 1985, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, is currently living and working in Beijing. Artist and independent animation film director, whose practice adopts design, video art, painting and music.

Recipient of the Cai Guo-qiang scholarship awarded by the Asian Cultural Council in 2014. 

关于作品

《书上的书》系列作品中的视觉元素来自雷磊父亲年轻时购买的《国外书籍装帧资料集》，它出版于1988年。通过筛选、剪切和拼贴，雷磊将这些印刷在中国书籍上的外国封面，重新贴回到国外手机的二手书籍上，让这些二次印刷的封面“物归原主”。

About work

“Books in a book” draws visual elements from Sourcebook of Foreign Book Binding, published in 1988, a volume the artist’s father has bought in his youth. By selecting, cutting and collaging its content, Lei Lei pasted the covers of foreign books printed on a Chinese book onto a second hand book in a foreign mobile phone, gesturing a return these “second edition” book covers to its original owner.
